How long do the sessions typically take?

My timeframes are very generous as I usually am able to shoot quickly and wrap earlier than the specified time. My sessions start at 2 hours and am able to book as long half-day long shoots for larger projects, if necessary. If we are shooting in a busy area, such as Downtown Vancouver, it might take us a little longer due to pedestrian traffic. For my standard portrait sessions, I suggest about 1 hour per outfit/look. Be mindful of how long it takes to change into each outfit as well.

 

Why do I have to pay a deposit?

The purpose of the deposit is to lock in your date and time. If you cancel last minute, I most likely would have been able to book someone else during that period. I do not write anything down in my calendar until the deposit has been paid, making your desired time slot up for grabs. Nothing is booked until the deposit has been paid.

 

When do I have to pay the remainder? Can I pay upfront?

The remainder of your session + travel fee is due immediately following your shoot before we both depart. No images will be delivered until final payment is made. The way my booking system is set up is in two increments: deposit + final payment.

 

What if we book an outdoor shoot and it rains?

This is a very real possibility due to the fact that I am based in Raincouver… uhm, I mean Vancouver. If the weather makes it impossible to shoot, I become sick, or some random act of God happens, I will put your deposit towards a re-schedule. However, if you simply do not show up to your session, the deposit will not be refunded. Life happens – I totally understand. However, if you need to cancel and do not want to re-schedule, your deposit is not refunded.

 

Can I bring a friend or family member to hype me up?

Everyone can use a hype-man/woman/non-binary identifying person! Yes, bring a friend, parent, or spouse! Whoever can cheer you on or whatever will make you feel more comfortable. Go for it!

 

How and when will I receive my images?

You will receive the edited images within 2-3 weeks of your session. You will receive all of the files via WeTransfer, which is an easy + free email service. From there, you then can send them to print, forward to your friends + family, and post online! Download links do expire after a few days, so be sure to download your images asap! Make sure to save and backup your images.

 

For how long will you store my images?

I clean out my client files every 3 months and cannot guarantee that I will back up the images for you, so be sure to download the images and create your own backups. I do not store the raw files for more than 2 months.

 

Can I have the unedited or Raw files?

No.

 

What if I don’t want my images shared on social media or your website?

Please make it clear to me during your initial contact that you do not want your images used for social media. One of the primary ways I market my photography services (and how you probably found me!) is through social media and I rely on sharing my photography to bring in customers. Therefore, I do have a fee if this is something you want waved. Please inquire.
